Rider Packing List

• Helmet

• Hairnets - at least 2

• Show shirt - one per day

• Collars /pin (tie for the boys)

• Show jacket 

• Show jodhpurs/pants - one per day

• Boot pulls

• Belt

• Thin socks/ nylons

• Tall boots or riding boots and knee band

• Comfortable shoes for the ride there and home

• A t-shirt or sweatshirt or cover show clothes, change when you are done.

• Rain gear

• Elastic hair bands/ bobby pins

• Show leather riding gloves and regular riding gloves

• Riding chaps/ half chaps

• Garment bags and boot bags

• Makeup bag with lip balm, extra hair bands, makeup and comb brush

Groom's /Mom's List

• Show papers - Coggins, health certificate, show entries (copies) (extra set from trainer)

• Membership cards

• Proof of age for Junior riders and Junior horses

• Copy of health card on file with membership

• Class List copies

• Number/ pins or string

• Check book

• Pen(s)

• Water and electrolyte-type drinks

• Cash for snacks

• Gloves if you help out with stalls or hold horses

• Hats for the sun

• Sunscreen and lotion

• Rain Gear (for everyone) (boots, hats, coats)

• Sewing kit

• Kleenex

• Extra towels

• First aid kit

• Ice chest full of snacks and drinks for multiple teen tastes

• Camera, video, film, memory cards, batteries, and charger

Trailer/ Tack Room Packing

• Feed for each day

• Hay Bales

• Shavings (if staying over night)

• Supplements

• Medicine for horses

• Poultice for legs

• Liniment

• Hoof polish

• Box, bucket or bag for ringside supplies

• Blankets - depending on weather

• Rain sheet

• Wool or fleece coolers

• Bathing supplies - bucket, shampoo, tail & mane cleaner, Show Sheen, Quick Silver for white, brush/sponges, wipe blade

• Clipping supplies, razor for nose, clippers for ears and fetlocks

• Water hose

• 3 buckets (2 water/1 feed) and bucket straps or holders

• Hay bag

• Fly spray (for horse and people)

• Carrots and apples

• Tools - staple gun, pliers, knife, scissors, screwdrivers, hole punch,

• Farrier tools - nipper and hoof pliers

• Step stool

• Saddle and bridle racks

• Muck bucket or wheel barrow and rake/shovel, broom

• Extension cords, clip on light and fan

• Large flashlight

• Lunge line and whip

• Cot/ floor rug/ fly spray if you intend to keep your horse company over-night

The night before you leave check gas in truck, lights/ tires on trailer. Google show location, have map standing by. Wraps are clean and ready to go.
